Hmm...I noticed that almost everyone who mentioned a smart slacker always said 'he'. It's funny, because at my school in the senior class the top 2 are girls who are your typical study-all-the-time val and sal, but 3,4, and 5 are all incredibly intelligent slacker guys. They are all bored with high school and rarely go to class but still manage to get good grades. My class is more known for 'study smart' people, just like a few posters above mentioned.

he never studies ...

ranked 4th in class
2400 o nfirst try

naidu's and buttery's schools are like the opposite of mine. haha

It gets really annoying after a while to get branded like that

several of my friends are like that, & it's so annoying.

they don't study much, chill & go out, yet get almost perfect scores & are ranked top in the school. ARGH.

I am just a slacker. :D

smart slackers are so hot.

You're slackers are nothing. We have a guy who's qualified for the usamo since 8th grade and went to the mathcounts nationals in eighth grade, yet has like a 3.0 gpa. He's got a sort of mental black agtainst doing homework. For example, when he took calc bc(in 9th grade) he would cram TWO WEEKS worth of homework into the lunch break before the period when the homework was due.

3.0 is nothing. My slacker (see above) even failed a class.

We used to have one.
He was/is amazingly smart, and used to be in honors classes, but since the jr high system was messed up, he wasn't allowed in anymore in high school because he didn't get along with the teacher, ended up not doing well, and was not allowed in the program.
The rest of his short-lived high school career was spent slacking, eventually dropping out at 16 (His last day was 4/20) and getting his GED. He now goes to County, but apparently schooling just isn't for him... But he's still very interesting to talk to.

hmm we have some of those also. however i hate when does stupid kids have a higher gpa while they are in regular classes meanwhile im in ap and hnrs classes..

sorry about that typo up there its supposed to be those* instead of does...

I'm definately one of them. I didn't realize until I found out I had a higher average than the kids who study 2+ hours a day for Geometry while I study 30-45 minutes the day before.

But I'm changing my ways :)

Me. .

There are plenty of smart slackers at my school. Unfortunately, they are doomed to never be more than intelligent hoboes. (lol)

A fire that burns without guidance or direction breeds nothing but impotent ash. (No, I did not steal that off of a fortune cookie)

sorry...but people who slack off during high school and actually begin studying in college will be the people who will be owning you in college O.o
CHEER for slackers =D
edit: that is if slackers learn that they must slack no longer =(

One in AP Chem: Gets 100's and 99's on all the tests but his grade is a low B.... He lost 18% for not doing homework (each missed hw is -1%)

school rewards the wrong type of people

i freaking hate kids like that. because i actually study ++ i can't do as well compared to someone who doesn't study at all! it makess me wickedd mad. and like these genius slacker kids do their homework as it's getting collected + the teachers are too dumb to notice.. and like these kids probably think that it will be like this the rest of their lives bc they work NONE + get rewarded with good grades.. but chyea, one day, they wont work hard + will fail..

and i will laugh at them when that time comes.
yeah that's all

IN my school I don't really see a lot of lazy dudes who gets rank of 1 or 2. The 'lazy' smart ones in my school get what they deserve (like bad SAT score, low Gpa, etc. ha ha! :D)
