Do you know anyone who got rescinded from UCLA for having 2C's?

do ya? I only know people who got rescinded for getting Ds and Fs. But maybe the ones who got rescinded for Cs arent speaking up!

speak up

I’m in a situation where it is guaranteed that my admission will be rescinded for getting one C.

I’m a TAP certified student who’s finishing up the honors certification process this year, but there’s a chance I may get a C in a geology class that I am doing an honors contract for. You need a B minimum for honors credit, thus if I get a C in the class I won’t receive honors credit and my TAP certified status will be revoked.

I’m not too worried though, all I need is a 82% on the final to get a B.

^woah dang thats harsh. thats probably only cause youre in the honors program right?

im in TAP and all i need is a 3.3 GPA in my honors course

Yeah guitar.

@socal
Can you ellaborate? Do you mean you just need a 3.3 overall gpa?

I’m not supposed to be on CC but I wanted to add my input for Honors.

Although on the UCLA provisional contract it says that we must maintain our grades as reported on our application, keep in mind that they send this standard provisional contract to everyone else with exceptions of course to some students. When it comes to becoming TAP certified you have to maintain a 3.8 in your Honors coursework that will be used for TAP, or else you will not be certified. In my Honors Program, I had to take 4 Honors classes and the Honors Seminar. When signing the TAP agreement/contract your Honors Coordinator should have told you that you need to keep that GPA to all As or all As and one B only or else you would not be certified. UCLA will revoke your admission if when they see your final transcript they see that you did not complete your Honors classes with the specific GPA…because you broke the agreement on your TAP contract and obviously will not be TAP certified.

So finish strong! I got two more weeks! Going to go type up some papers now! Ja!

@Yunie

i’d like to hear your input on my situation. i’m only taking 3 classes this last semester, and these are my projected grades

Geology 1 - 3 Units = B
Geology Lab - 2 Units = B
Honors Sociology 11 - 3 Units = A

do you think i’ll get rescinded with those grades, that’s not quite a 3.5 gpa?

keep in mind i was admitted to UCLA with a 3.5 gpa flat.

im really worried about getting rescinded because I have a lot of borderline grades

Class 1: 90%
Class 2: 79%
Class 3: 81%
Class 4: 97%

Scenario 1: 2 As and 2 Bs: 3.5
Scenario 2: 2 Cs 2 As: 3.0
Scenario 3: 1 A, 1 B, 2 Cs : 2.75

I think i would be fine with scenario 1, but im not sure about 2 or 3. What do you think if these happened, what would happen to my admission?

Keep in mind i am in a non impacted major, and admitted with a 3.7 GPA

i think youre fine with all 3 scenarios! They dont want to hear from you unless you get 3Cs. So two should be fine right?

btw, I called the counselors and they told me I can get C’s.

yeah but the whole “maintain your gpa” scares me. thanks for your input though

@Andrizzle

I really think you should talk to your Honors coordinator and ask them. If I was in your shoes, I would be in big trouble as mine told me I have to get a 4.0 or only one B. I’m sure the Honors program varies from CCC to CCC, so definitely go have a chat with them or one of your Honors counselors! Sorry I can’t be much help, I just do not want to give you misleading information…):! Good luck!!!

andrizzle: at my community college, the honors program only requires me to take a total of 15 units of honors courses and in the honors courses I must maintain 3.3 gpa and have an overall 3.0 gpa. heres the link to my schools honors program guidelines:

Yunie: are you sure we have to maintain a 3.8 GPA in the honors courses we took? because at my school in order for me to complete TAP all i need is a 3.3 GPA in my honors course. again heres the link to my schools TAP program guideline

[San Bernardino Valley College - Honors Program](http://www.valleycollege.edu/Honors/index.php)

if you don’t have a 4.0 you ain’t ****

i ain’t **** :(

anyways…back to the original question: rescinded with 2Cs??

im taking hardcore ochem+engineering physics. its pertty hard lol

Uhm…

I think you’re a bit confused. That’s to graduate and recieve recognition for completing the Honors Program, very separate from TAP. My Honors Program has those same guidelines but TAP is a different thing in itself set by UCLA. Again, please go speak with your Honors Coordinator or you can check on your schools general catalog where it also has that information! (: Good luck!

guitarfrk123- what did admissions say to you again??

My classes are not ending the way that I anticipated… I am in 22 units and kinda bombed my Gen Chem final & Biology is bordering A/B…

Depending on the curves I may be fine but,

Worse case scenario I may end with:

3 A’s, 2 B’s and 1 C … This equates to 3.18 gpa…

My last 2 semesters gpa was 3.79 and 4.0… Overall I have a 3.62… I’m a Psych major which is impacted… What do you guys think?? This is a pretty significant drop in GPA…

Any input?? Anyone!

youre fine dude. They told me that I “can get C’s”

the counselor even used plural on C. meaning more than one! ahaha

I already got one C+ in physics 4B. Hopefully I dont get a C in physics 4C

wow physics… that’s intense… I hope you don’t get a C either…

The damage is done already so this is good to know… :)

I honestly don’t even think maintaining a 3.0 holds as much weight as the ‘3 C’s or more’ guideline. because someone can easily get a 3.0 if they’re taking like two classes their last semester. i refuse to believe ucla would stoop as low as to rescind you for two C’s and under a 3.0 your last semester if you’re in a minimal amt of classes because it doesn’t really reflect/weight heavily on your overall CCC career. it’d be pretty fcked up to rescind you for getting two C’s especially because they tell us to NOT tell them if we do get two C’s.
