Do you look young/old for your age?

I’m 16. 17 in October. I think I look pretty close to 16, most of my friends do too. Once we were in Wal Mart and I bought a rated M video game (Call of Duty 4 - which you have to be 18 to purchase). Never was asked for my driver’s license, so I guess I looked 18+ haha.

When I was younger (14), I looked 16, but I think that recently my age caught up to my looks. Back then there were girls that were 14-15 that were telling me they were 16 because that’s how old they thought I was. When I told them I was 14, they were like…“oh…me too”.

A lot of my friends tell me I look like Lucas Black. If you don’t know who that is - it’s the QB on Friday Night Lights and the main character in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

According to people who are actually in high school and know my grade, I look like the age I’m supposed to look. To people in high school who don’t my grade, I look about 2 years older.

To people not in high school (adults who I volunteer with), I look like I’m a college student. I personally think I look about 2-3 years older than I really am.

pics or it never happened

i eat reeds, who are you talking to?

What do you guys say to people when they ask “How old are you?” and then say “Nuh uh!”. I think it’s rude. What are your witty comebacks? lol

I know you are but what am I

Alot of people used to think I looked two years younger than I am.

However working this summer at the hospital someone thought I was a medical student. Though it probably had less to do with me and more to do with the professional clothes I was wearing.

I am 16 but I look twelve. I hate it. When I go to church the adults try to send me to Sunday school. Some people feel I am not old enough to drink soda. Boys pass me by and my parents still baby me like an infant. I want to grow up.

i’m 16. i get mistaken for 19 since im so tall

I wasn’t going to post in this thread, but I’ve been volunteering at Stanford for the past few days and five people have asked me what college I go to. I think it’s because I’m “tall”.
…5’7.5"? haha. I don’t know.

I look super young b/c I’m skinny and I have small shoulders. I’ve told people I’m a senior and they’re shocked (I look like a soph/junior) Sighhhh!

Yay for captaincy and presidency in lots of clubs then. ^_^

I look older than actuality. When I first meet someone, they assume that I’m senior in college. They always are shocked when I say I’m a senior in high school.

I’m almost 17…I think I look a little bit younger than my age. Maybe 15. The fact that I’m 5"3 may have something to do with it, haha.

I just got braces recently so less people have been asking what college I go to…

I’m 17. People who first see me take me to be maybe 18 or 19. In countries with a drinking age of 18 I’m always served. I’m usually carded in America. People who talk to me for a while after meeting me tend to assume that I’m 21 or 22. This isn’t because I talk about quantum mechanics or anything, I just always come off as an older person through conversation.

Oh, and I appear 18/19 at first glance because of facial hair, and possibly my demeanor. I’m only 5’ 9".

I’m 16, and the guess usually is around there - anywhere from 14 to 18. Ditto on the conversation thing as ChoklitRain, not anything about intelligence but through simple conversation I’m perceived on the older teenage years.

And height IMO has little to do with how old you look, I’m average at 5’11 and I’ve gotten 14 a couple times (rarely now), and I’ve seen some of my shorter friends with certain facial features get called as old as 21. IDK, maybe it matters more for girls.

EDIT: I also find that (although this is obvious) the way you carry yourself, composure, posture, etc, somehow matters quite a bit from what I’ve seen.

I moved physics stuff the other day in the lab… and a visiting group of computer science people seriously thought I was a teacher. Wow…
