Thanks Soozievt for making that very clear! Now I don’t have to try to explain…:)

Yes - thanks SoozieVT for elaborating about that. It is a confusing process and it does make it more perplexing when a few kids get an immediate acceptance (especially when one of those acceptances went to a friend of yours and you have been “on hold” for over two months…!)

And GumpMT - just wanted to add - I don’t think the L.A. Unifieds were CCM’s last audition. Looks like they had an on-campus MT audition this past Saturday, Feb. 19th. So now they can move forward with making decisions - woo-hoo!

im on hold also! but just a quick update on acceptances. i talked to a few friends over there and as of friday they had accepted 2 guys and 2 girls. so hopefully we will find out next week! i wish i knew about how many people were put on hold lol =/

tknapp 92–Just to clarify, just because some people did not get “on hold” emails does not mean that they are no longer in consideration. I have not received any email and I have not been rejected. Apparently they are having a meeting tomorrow to discuss applicants. So its anyone’s game! ahhh

What if you receive no rejection and no hold, where does that put you in the big picture?

Have people been rejected at this point?

Okay…so I understand most of what sooviet explained but you didn’t really answer the question which was “is receiving the “hold” email essential to acceptance??” will everyone who receives that final acceptance have gotten the previous “hold” email?

^^^I do not work for CCM and have NO inside information and your question in #27 probably can only be clarified by someone at CCM who knows.

However, I will venture a GUESS…Please please know this is an educated guess to your question and not based on FACTS…but…
I think it IS possible that someone who had a recent audition could conceivably not ever get an “on hold” (still in consideration) letter and be admitted. My reason is that it was the auditions in the early and middle part of the audition season that would result in either a rejection or a “hold” (and in a very very few cases, an acceptance), whereas in the final few auditions, they may not need to send out “hold” letters as they are now ready to make their decisions in choosing the class from the “on hold” kids in the earlier rounds, plus anyone they are still considering in the very recent rounds. They may not need to bother with “hold” letters in the final rounds as it is so close to sending out final decisions anyway.

I’m just offering a logical explanation and it is not based on having direct information from CCM, which is truly the only thing you can rely on.

That said, I know how hard it is to wait but it sounds like CCM decisions will be out very soon and so hang in there. Also, try hard to keep realistic expectations as the acceptance rate is soooooooooooo low that the odds of not getting in are very very great and if that happens, it is not a commentary on your talent. Very talented people will be denied who end up accepted at other fine MT programs.

thanks for the clarification sooviet!! All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!

I had called CCM today and they said many of their accepted students do NOT receive hold emails first.

I also auditioned at LA unifieds and have not heard anything.

It just seems odd that some received near-instant “holds” (not allowing time for their audition to be reviewed at the school) and others from the same LA audition haven’t heard anything. Yet, according to MTBoy15’s comment, all are still being considered.

I feel concerned. Should I be?

The entire process of auditioning and then waiting to hear back about one’s fate can be very stressful. You would not be normal if you did not want answers and did not want to try to speculate about your own situation based on any little piece of information available. Unfortunately no one can know anything for sure until they get direct feedback from the program directors. I know the process can be very anxiety provoking, but it is probably best to find some other distraction until direct word comes out. Unfortunatley, speculation will not increase anyone’s chances at all. Try to hang in there.

MTPOPS is absolutely correct. Good Luck to all still waiting to hear!

Based on knowledge from the past year… Some people who are put on hold are accepted but not all accepted people are put on hold. Remember, no news is good news. Of last years class, 2 people were accepted up front, early, back in december and then a few were 3-6 were put on hold from the on campus auditions… but those who auditioned at unifieds (particularly the later ones) didn’t hear anything (no holds, defers, or any sort of contact) until March 1st… a hefty majority of the class was informed upfront of their decision on March 1st. They sent out all of the acceptance letters via email at the same time to about 11-16 kids that they had decided to accepted. They all eventually received a physical one in the mail.

Enadx720- Thanks so much for those good details.

Now that the week is coming to an end…should we assume no answers this week?

Some are getting results, check your status.

I was told we should expect a final decision this week…

Still no change…even on the check my status page.

A CCM acting school admission was just posted on CC, not sure if MT is on the same schedule?

Based on last year, everyone should know sometime between this coming monday and the next.

It is my guess that no sort of formal acceptance has been sent yet to any other auditioners (excepted those 2 accepted early on) because normally a list of accepted students will appear on campus in the main office for current Musical Theater Majors to sign up to begin “buddying” up with the accepted prospectives. Despite 2 students being accepted, no list has appeared up at the school. It is estimated by the students at the school however, that it will appear sometime this week.
