Do you reply to a reply to a request? And what does the reply mean?

I know, a seriously stupid question. I'm new to this whole internship thing, though.
So, I requested an internship, with a nice professional letter and all, and they message me back with something like this; We'll keep in touch.

Number one: Do I reply? Like, 'Hope to hear from you soon' or 'Thank you'?

Number two: WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I would've been happy with a flat out no or a yes. But this is cryptic! I'm not exactly the strongest candidate, but NOBODY else has applied as they have not advertised internships and are a little start up that is struggling, and I also specifically said that I would be non-salaried.

Thank you for your time! Appreciate all replies.

You could respond with a polite thank you, and that you look forward to hearing from them, but it’s not a huge deal. Their response could mean that they’ll consider it, but need to look into the idea a little further before giving you a decision. They might not want to stomp the idea with a “no,” but they also don’t want to confirm a possibility at this time. Just hang tight and keep looking elsewhere.

@NovaLynnx Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, I was using Facebook messenger, and I accidentally tapped the thumbs icon, so my reply was a doofus-like thumbs up icon. Hopefully that doesn’t alter their perception of me…

I think that’s just a nice polite way to reply to you. I don’t think there is need for you to reply back.

Lol, probably not the most professional reply, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If they didn’t have an opening advertised then it’s not likely they will create one on the spot, but they may consider it in the future so just keep an eye out.
