Preferably neither. Just eat a reasonable portion of somewhat healthy food an hour or 2 before the test
The stomach is half full…
You’re wrong @GMTplus7 it’s best when the stomach is half empty!
I always eat big breakfasts on the morning of major exams (midterms, finals, etc.) - usually something relatively healthy like a spinach and egg white omelette, some turkey sausage, and a cup of tea.
I prefer not to eat on a completely empty stomach, but I don’t eat a ton because finals for me are 4.5 hours (extended time). I’d rather not have to use the restroom during the exam.
Well I don’t think it is ever a good idea to take it with a full stomach. Who knows, you could throw up because of nerves or stress.
I take them with a full stomach of caffeine.
Food fuels you. @preamble1776 is right. A balanced, healthy breakfast that’s going to give you energy will help boost your brain and keep you going through the test.
Test taking on an empty stomach just means you’re depriving yourself of energy and making it harder to think.
If you’re nervous, have chamomile tea to help calm you, don’t skip out on a nourishing meal.
And only have a typical (for you) amount of caffeine. You want to stick as closely to your normal routine as possible.
Pro-tip: buy some rosemary essential oil and rub it on the inside of your wrists as you study (test patch first!). Rosemary increases focus. On the day of the test, do the same, and your scent memory (which is the strongest memory) will help you recall what you’ve studied. It’s also very grounding and helps with nervousness.
Tenured physiology professor told me I need to eat a hamburger before I take exams. So I eat a wendy’s son of baconator combo one time if I have a morning or afternoon exam.
Glucose tabs!
@iwannabe_Brown @GMTplus7 You’re both wrong. Your stomach is twice as big as it needs to be.
