Do you take your tests/essays/quizzes etc. in pen or pencil?

Odd question.

Just wondering.

Obviously for the mathematic-related subjects, you should use a pencil... but what about, say, an english essay?

I write essays in pen and take quizzes/tests (non-writing portions) in pencil.

Pencil unless the teacher tells us to use pen. For in class essays in AP Lang and AP World History the teachers ask that we use pen.

Pen for anything non-multiple choice.

Writing in pencil really annoys me.

Always pencil unless teacher requires essays to be written in pen.

In college, I use pencils for pretty much every quiz/test. For papers that aren’t exams, and most homework (esp. math), I usually type them.

Pencil master race

Pen, to the chagrin of some of my teachers.

Always pen except for multiple choice tests and math. For math tests, I write in mechanical pencil.

Always pencil. Always. I stopped using pens once my 8th grade teacher chastised me for using one, and I found out that I really like using mechanical pencils better. It improves my handwriting and they write easier. I only use pen if my teacher tells me to.

pencil. always.

Pen for tests (History+English) because my teachers require them
Essys are in pen
Everything else pencil (which is what I prefer)

Depends.
If I have my nice fountain pen with me, I write with that LOL.
Unless my teacher tells me to write in pencil that is.

I used pencils on tests and typed any take-home assignments. I used to like pens better, but I would always either make a lot of mistakes or get ink on my hands.

I use pen for everything that isn’t on a scantron. I like pen.

Pencil for math and science courses, pen for all the others.

Mechanical pencils for everything… Then I can erase and rewrite my answers when I mess up.

Pen unless I’m doing math. The confidence is real

Last year I used pen in almost every class, even math (unless it required a pencil because scantron) since I kept forgetting to bring a pencil. Now, however, I use a pencil unless required.

Pen for English and history. Mechanical pencil for everything else.

Pen for everything, feels so smooth when it glides across the paper.
