Do you think I have a fighting chance for Wharton?

<p>hey guys i need your help. i dont know if i even have a chance to get into the prestigious Wharton school</p>

<li>Varsity Tennis ( i am sure everyone has this)</li>
<li>SAT- unknown yet… i am going to take the March 1 SAT… i get 1800-1900 on practice tests though</li>

<li>i am poor… my parents make less than 30,000 annually</li>
<li>my biological parents abandoned me when i was in 4th grade and i have been adopted by my aunt and uncle</li>
<li>i helped my aunt and uncle at work sometimes</li>
<li>a little volunteer</li>
<li>top 10 percent</li>
<li>taking 3 aps = AP Chem, AP US History, AP English</li>
<li>weighted GPA 4.0-4.1 and unweighted 3.9-4.0</li>
<li>first generation college student</li>

<p>You don't have the ECs, or SAT. Have you tried the ACT?</p>

<p>I'd say no. But you do have a hook going there with the orphan thing, that should work quite well in an essay, but do not make it a sob story. Write about how that changed you positively or something like that. Like it made you tougher, etc.</p>

<p>Can you hook me up with one of those cars on the front page of the website. if so you are in. jk, yeah, the SAT is a little low, but you definitely have enough hardships/ out of school activities that take away time from studying that would help you significantly. i think you have a good shot.</p>
