So I'm trying to decide whether to take this class or not. I'll be a senior next year and I have absolutley no intention of being a history major (I want to go pre med). I've taken APUSH (hopefully a 4 or 5), AP World (5), and AP Human (5) so far in the history AP classes... so I don't really think that I'll need it for a college credit or something. I really enjoyed learning about all of the cultures and stuff for AP World, but I absolutley hated APUSH. Basically, I'd be taking this class for another quality point on my GPA to try and move my class rank from 3 to 2 or 1.

I'm also taking AP Lit, AP Chem, AP Econ, and College Calc II/III next year. Should I add this class to my schedule and put up with all of the reading and stuff, or should I stick with Theory of Knowledge or some other random class?

Thanks.

You may not be successful in the class if you’re just taking it because its going to help your GPA. That said, if you think you can handle it, there’s no reason not to take it.

Thanks, Harambee. Honestly, I will still have the same work ethic if I take it because I want to, or to help my GPA. I absolutley do NOT want to do anything with Math, but still made an A in Calc BC this year. :/

AP European History can tend to be a class that pushes back hard if you do not follow up with the writings/readings. If you think you can do it and succeed, then do it :D

However, if you’re not in love with it and doing it for rank…you may wish to reconsider and focus your energies and talents on…perhaps an extracurricular that can emphasize your unique qualities?

I think that you would enjoy AP Euro because you enjoyed AP World. I know a lot of people who hate APUSH because it’s the history of only 1 country and love AP Euro for all the different countries and cultures and all that (not me; all those countries and kings just confused the heck out of me). Nonetheless, the history of Europe is always a good thing to know; you never know when you might visit Europe!
