<p>I'm all for lower class applicants being given an advantage in admissions; they have faced significant obstacles in thier life. I also think diversity is important; it's just that my friend doesn't really appear black at all (I'm almost positive he's never faced any obstacles due to his racial makeup) Good luck to you; I'm sure that not being invited is NOT indicative of a waitlist or rejection.</p>

<p>I really don't know about this one. I was accepted to W&M, completely rejected to Wake Forest (not even a waitlist), given spring semester to UMD, and accepted into Emory and UMiami. I'm trying to be optimistic but in the long run I think I will be waitlisted or rejected. Here are some of my stats:</p>

-GPA: 4.0uw/4.4w
-Rank: 9/298
-AP Spanish, AP Calc AB, AP Economics, AP US History, AP World History, AP Calc BC, AP Biology
-ECs:Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, Top 10 Jazz/Marching Bands in country, -Newspaper editor, SNHS, NHS, Spanish Club President</p>

<p>Other:
-Competitive Catholic High School in MD/DC
-White/Male</p>

<p>About half my school applied + I too was waitlisted at Northwestern, and if I can't get in there, I can't get into Duke. </p>
