Do you wear shoes in your house?

^ I try not to haha

As a hawaiian recently moved to the east coast YES b/c the floors are fre akin COLD! but no i didn’t back home

I share the same pet peeve, well the shoes on inside the house and the sloppy appearances. It sounds really snobbish, but my house is my sanctuary, I like my sanctuary clean.

With the maid service subject, my family will never have one. Money isn’t a real problem (well besides that my parents are modest and avoid the appearance that they are more affluent than others), it’s really the whole fact of a stranger coming into our house. We have friends who have maids and they always talk about going home and cleaning because the maid will be in the next day. Doesn’t that seem a bit impractical? The people who lived in our house before us did have a maid, but she did practically nothing.

In other words, shoes are disgusting in the house and maids are pretty impractical (well, not in your case or in the case which a disability is involved).

lol, yeah. since they pretty much just clean the floors we have to clean since theyre not allowed to touch anything. kinda sucks. :(

im azn so i take off my shoes hahaha

i have slippers at my house just in case non-azns feel uncomfortable bare-footed

I don’t! =D
It goes against Latin American culture to not wear shoes indoors. It’s considered rude and disrespectful, but I like walking barefoot. Anyways it drives my mother nuts! lol

Wow, I’m also surprised by the amount of people here whose friends have maids. I guess CCers are more likely to live in wealthier communities, though.

Affluence and a strong emphasis on education are somewhat correlated so it wouldn’t surprise me.

Socks? Also: slippers.

My friends’ parents are always amused that I take off my shoes before entering their houses.

No. I don’t like wearing anything on my feet.

Maybe that’s why you need the potato peeler…

No…
I think that was for spending so much time out in the snow

My feet are fine now =P

No, no I do not.

What type of chocolate was it btw?

LoL, My maids wear their shoes in the house, but they clean it quite well and they make us free cakes every once in a while, so clean house & cake > shoes? HECK YES.

hells no. the thought of wearing shoes in my house disgusts me. and second my parents would not let me do that.

lol I am too lazy to take my shoes off when I come inside. My house is old and messy, so I don’t really notice the effects

Actually, Pro and I live in two of the most affluent cities in Michigan (we live in neighbor cities). We just like to do our own stuff- we don’t need maids to clean up our messes.

Edit: apparently we live in one of the most affluent cities in the country according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highest-income_places_in_the_United_States

I’m surprised at how low Fairfield County is :O

Nope, no shoes in the house for either.
