I'm 30 years old, will be 31 at time of application. I have a 3.5 GPA, work full time and hold a manager title. Major will be Communications, Econ, or Sociology.

Do you think UCLA and UCI will reject me because I'm too old or work full time?

I am part of an organization that sets industry standards for print and online media so I'm hoping this helps...the members include employees from all the big publishers, Time, Hearst, Conde, etc.

I've searched through the threads and I couldn't find any topics on age and people who work full time, but if this is a repeat please let me know.

There is a UC Transfers sub-forum for us. But to quickly answer your question, no you will not be rejected for your age. That's Ageism. :)

Really though, you're pretty much a lock for UCI, and your chances at UCLA are okay given that you listed your job on the application.

In fact, UC Berkeley (I don't know if you applied) has a program for older folks who enroll. They help you get housing that accommodates kids if you have any and plenty of other things - I don't remember off the top of my head.

SMCguy> Age and work status won't be a factor. I'm 37 and was accepted last year to UCLA and Cal along with other UCs, States and Privates. Good luck!
