Does Algebra I count as high school math?

Hi, I wasn't sure what catagory to post this under.

Right now, I'm junior in high school and I'm taking honors pre-calc H (I had Algebra I H in middle school, then took two years of math in high school, and am on my third now). My school requires two years of math to graduate, but I've heard that four is recomended. I've also heard from a semi-reliable source that my middle school Algebra I can count as a year, meaning I don't need to take a math next year. Is this true?

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. All the middle schools in my school system have Algebra I for seventh/eighth graders.

If you earned HS credit for the class you took in middle school and it’s on your official transcripts, then yes, it’s just like taking it in HS. As for how good of an idea it is to not take math your senior year… Well, that’s another story.
