<p>My uncle, who is a grad of Dartmouth and Dartmouth medical school, wrote a rec letter for me and recieved a letter back from the admissions office saying "thank you for recommending your nephew...". Obviously this won't count as much as a parent legacy, but will it help at all?</p>
<p>It doesn't count as a legacy, because I think only parents and grandparents count.</p>
<p>But I'd say, yes it will help a little.
At least they know you already have relations to Dartmouth.</p>
