As the title says, I'm looking for a CC/CSU that offers Linear Algebra during the summer. So far I've only seen De Anza and East Los Angeles College offer the class. However, both schools are out of the question. Are there any other CCs or maybe even CSUs that offer Linear Alg during the summer?

San Diego City and San Diego Mesa both have open seats for linear algebra, but classes start tomorrow. They’ve even got diff eq, if you need it.

Unfortunately San Diego is also out of the question. And PCC’s Linear Alg section is closed :/

Are there any others? I’m also trying to see if De Anza will work. Has anyone ever taken Linear Alg with Bourgoub? Does he regularly assign hmwk and give quizzes during the summer?

The only UC I could attend during the summer is UC Santa Cruz, which does have an open Lin Alg class during the summer. However, I also have over 100 semester units, and if I take the UC class I may be in trouble with the unit cap, I need to call UCLA, which I was planning to do today, but my phone died >.<

Haha Art, all the UCs have that cap. However, I’m not sure if it’s applies for admitted students. The reason the unit cap exists is to discourage/prevent senior transfers. Because I took all my units from a CC, it doesn’t matter how many units I rack up, none of my credits are upper division.

However, you can take upper division courses at 4 year, and thus you are limited to the number of units you can have, However I am going to be a junior and the class I want to take is lower division. I don’t want to take any chances though so I’m gonna give them a call.

actually I was talking to UCI recently and they don’t have a formal unit cap. You just have to complete certain courses as you go along, and that just applies for impacted majors.

College of San Mateo and Skyline College both offer Summer Sessions of Linear Algebra. These colleges are both part of the San Mateo Community College District which is just south of San Francisco. The semester starts on June 22nd. A link to class schedules is at websmart.smccd.edu
