are you aware this is the texas a&m forum j-hobbs?
sounds like a troll to me
uvm is university of vermont

LOL yea....that was kinda random. So BAK 2 the discussion about scholarships -_-

so does a&m give out most of the scholarships in march?

I think so...atleast thats wat I heard

So this scholarship thing also has something to do with when the apps were turned in??

I turned in all my stuff to A&M the last week of November. They processed my transcript and mailed out my acceptance on the same day (according to the status check thing online)

** When did you guys turn in your apps?? **

End of oct

same as reloadedxp

I turned in my app dec 1st . My school has a tonnnnnn of people applying to tamu though, so we just had an admissions rep come and pick up the apps in person lol.

they say thats its better 2 turn in early for admission and scholarship purposes but idk about scholarships....I have pretty good stats (not nmsf) and I don't think I am gonna get anything.

Yeah, getting scholarship is now seems a little hopeless without nmsf status...

But here's my stats, if anyone's interested:

Ranking: top 20 out of 600 (so that's about top 3%?)

SAT: [cr+m] 1300~ (can't remember the exact)
Good SAT 2 scores, but I don't think A&M even looks at these (right??)
ACT: comp: 32

Some EC
Very good recommendation, but I was stupid and send it to the wrong office (admission) instead of the scholarship office.

Science major

you might get sumthing LukeC since ur in tihe Top 3%.....I am in the Top 7% out of 1380 students and my scores are near urs...and I don't think I am gonna get anything.

btw, do u know if we can check if all the documents are in for scholarship purposes....I am not sure if I sent in my recs 2 the proper place.

^^ Business Major btw

I don't know if we can check our documents for scholarship.
My rec appeared on my admission page, and that was when I realized that I made a mistake. I really hope the admission people gave the rec to the scholarship office, but that's probably not going to happen...

LukeC, you can check documents for the honors program, which administers merit based scholarships. Log in to the Howdy Portal and click on the applicant tab. You should see a Scholarships window. My son's shows that they have received his Apply Texas application, transcript, profile, and 1 letter of recommendation.

Hope this helps!

BuffDriver

buffdriver, do u mean Financial Aid window or scholarship window? cuz for scholarship window, its only transfer and grad students but not undergrad

^^ and for financial aid, it says they don't have my documents -_-
I turned everything in at the end of oct.

The scholarships window definitely is tracking my son's credentials--he's an undergraduate candidate. Actually, he has been accepted, but the scholarship window was active before he was accepted.

Sorry for the bad info if this is not consistent with others' experience.

BuffDriver

My window looks like reloaded's. The scholarship window gave transfer and graduate links. The financial aid's said they received nothing. Did we do something wrong??

But thanks for the information, BuffDriver.

Are there scholarships that you can only get when applying as an incoming freshmen that are applied to all 4 years? I hadn't considered applying to A&M so I missed the deadline.
