How are they? I have glasses and sort of want contacts, but I don't know if it's worth it... Thanks.

They're fun and entertain me when I'm bored.

I don't. My eyes start twitching like crazy anytime I have anything near them. Only a few more years till I can get lasik eye surgery.

what?? Entertain you when you're bored? HAha. I've heard of yoyo entertainment, DDR, but contacts are a first. they're worth it if you think you'll look better in them. But, they take longer to put on every morning, and generally require a little more care than glasses since they can rip/break more easily. m i rite?

I do not.

Wherefore would one wish to see things through capitalist lenses?

How was the transition from glasses to contacts?

Yeah it is definitely worth it, especially if you are doing a sport or a rigourous physical activity. I wore glasses for only two days when I got them and switched to contacts immediatly; it took me a couple of months to be able to put on my contacts in about five seconds, but I do not regret my choice. Also, even though a lot of people sometimes sleep in their contacts, I advise not to sleep with contacts because it cuts down on the oxygen in the eye and strains it even more.

I got mine about a month ago, and I'm getting more and more adjusted to them every day. Sometimes it's weird though--on random days, it just feels horrible, like there's something in my eye (even though I make sure they're cleaned), so I have to wear my glasses then. I think they're worth it when you play sports and do other activities. Just be carefule with them: I've rubbed my eyes and have had the contact actually fall out! But yeah, I think they're worth the switch.

depends on your eye's sensitivity.

after wearing glasses for 4 years, i switched to contacts 2 years ago and will NEVER go back.

i remember the first time i was given contacts, i put them on and said, "wow, i can't feel them AT ALL". i think for the most part, i do not feel like i have anything in my eye. the only way i know is if i intentionally use focus or 'zone out'. then it gets blurry because the contacts don't get enough liquid.

when i first got contacts i used to be anal about cleaning them properly, etc. but now i really don't care.. it's something you get used to.

I've been wearing contacts since I was 11, and I'd say it's absolutely worth it. Contacts are much more practical, especially if you're active (I ride horses, sometimes in the rain...enough said).

I wear blue contacts, they make my eyes look good.

i need contacts to play soccer and tennis...they're more convenient than glasses.

I wore glasses for about 3 years until I switched to contacts. I can't imagine not having them. I don't have any real problems with them and you can see much better with contacts than you can with glasses. After awhile they just become part of your routine and you don't even really think about them any more.

I've been wearing contacts for about 3 years now, and they're no hassle at all. It becomes a habit wearing them to school each morning - barely takes 30 seconds. I'd recommend getting them. :)

kate, see if your optician will give you a trial pair of contacts.

There are different types to wear - I hear hard contacts are annoying because you can feel them when they dry. Soft contacts (which I wear) are really nice. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing them and I take a shower/go to bed/swim with them on (you aren't supposed to do any of those wearing them!) ... yes they are that comfy.

Plus... glasses are a pain. no matter how much you clean them they get kind of smoggy during the day.

i have contacts. never had glasses really, only wear them when im in bed or in the morning if i dont have to go out for a while

you're not supposed to take a shower or swim w/ contacts in? i swim w/ them in every day. but then again i have the 1 day disposable kind.

I used too.....not a fun year for me

Has anyone tried the contacts that are used for correcton (sorry, I don't know the formal term)?

I use contacts. I'm nearsighted. They are great, I can't imagine what life would be like without them. I can't feel them and I can see perfectly. I'd definitely recommend them. I had glasses for a little over 3 years before I decided to switch, best decision ever.

DEFINITELY get contacts. They're so worth it.

Contacts grow on you. The more and more you wear them the easier it is to use them and the more you forget about them.
