I have taken 5 APs over my sophomore and junior year, and i have an average of 4.8, meaning that i will get the ap scholar with distinction award.

is this award common for incoming seniors? will it help me for college admissions at the top schools at all?

Typically, the AP Scholar Awards are just something to brag about. I got it as an incoming senior, and didn't use it at all in any of my college apps. I don't know about common, but it know around 20% of my school gets this as an incoming senior.

to the op: it will definitely help you, considering the vast majority of applicants do not that ap scholar wth distinction, or even ap scholar. definitely list it in your awards

gator, if 20% of your school gets it before senior year, you go to a very competitive school

Well, my school has IB, plus it ranks #3 on Newsweek this year. Although I despise those rankings, it does say my school offers a lot of AP/IB exams.

Yeah, we're pretty much forced into APs once we become sophomores (everyone takes AP Euro as a soph), and this year my school is forcing all freshmen into AP world...

If you went to my school now, you'd be forced into 8 APs if you weren't in IB (Euro, US History, Stats/Calc, World, US Gov, Macro, English Lit and English Lang) and around 7 if you're in IB (USH, Euro, World, both Englishes, Foreign Language, and Bio/Chem/Physics)

prankityclankity: I don't think so, as there's no way a college would know be able to verify this, but being an AP Scholar with Distinction by itself could help.
