it's a question a lot of us wonder about - what do you guys think?

pretty much

Who really knows but in a book called The Price of Admission, it says Asians need 50 points higher on the SAT than white candiates!

Its not because colleges are racists, though. It is because they want to maintain diversity, and there are more qualified Asians than other ethnicities. It sort of sucks for you, to be honest, but I don't think being white male is much better off.

I've decided Native American is the best ethnicity for admissions.

Or Aborigine.

Any historically-exploited native race will suffice.

Asians have been exploited/discriminated historically, too, though. Maybe not to the extent of Native Americans or African Americans, but Chinese railway workers suffered extreme prejudice in the 1800s, Chinese Exclusion Act, Japanese internment, Opium wars in China, etc.

It just puzzles me how Asians are basically the only minority group that actually receives "reverse discrimination."

whatever. Just rambling.

Giving benefits to one race/color/ethnicity at the expense of another? Sounds racist to me. Good intentions do not change the nature of bias.

If only I could confront personal bigotry and systemically ingrained racism each day. It would make such a swell topic for my college essays.

Having an entire school of one ethnicity would suck.

I think it's funny that AA defendants say that the reason we need AA is to compensate for the fact that discrimination limits the opportunities for African Americans/Hispanics/Native Americans. In fact, AA is now being used to limit opportunities for Asian Americans, who, yes, do face discrimination.

Ranting, I know. I had to research this for a debate.

i don't know that many AA defendants who say that. most of them go for that diversity thing. but come on guys, lets not start this AA thing again.
