During the test on Saturday I was keeping my friends phone in my lunch bag because he did not bring any container to store it. So at the very start of the first section it occurred to me that he may have forgotten to turn it off, so as I reached into my bag to examine the phone, the proctor saw me with my hand on the phone and my eyes looking down at it... She never said anything about it and maybe did not even see, but I am worried they may suspect foul play.

When can I determine if I am safe or not? The dang phone was off by the way...

I am so worried! If they do accuse me of cheating is there any way I can explain the situation and change their minds?

I’d think that they definitely would have said something to you if they’d seen you doing it, unless it was a room with like three people or something… on the extremely unlikely chance that they accuse you of cheating, I don’t know that you could really defend yourself, but I seriously wouldn’t worry. They would have told you. Your test would have been taken up and you would have been asked to leave the room.

So all perceived cheaters are notified immediately? That is such a huge relief!

she wouldve said something…

You’re freaking out. Calm down. She may have seen or she may have not. Probably not. Nothing you can do. Chances are nothing will happen.

My phone actually went off during the test and my proctor was chill about it. When I put my sweater on my purse, but phone pressed against my water bottle and turned itself on - so it made that “welcome to Verizon” sound. My proctor was pretty cool with it. That said, we were only 45 seconds into the test, so I think it was clear I had barely read the first question, much less had time to cheat.
