Does everyone get reimbursed for travel expenses to Wildcat Days?

Kind of hoping it’s an acknowledgment that we’re poor for FA purposes.

Um… I don’t think so but considering it would cost the school thousands of dollars so probably not. NU doesn’t exactly cater to the whim of every potential student considering how many willing applicants they get. If your getting reimbursed that’s extremely lucky, but financial aid is determined by the FASFA and you’ll be able to see your reward soon on Caesar once they have a good income estimate for you. I not that rich myself and got like half off tuition, but I heard of people getting almost full rides based off NUs generous blind aid so if they’re offering free travel expenses based off the info they have on u it might hint good aid. They tell u before u decide so it’s not like they’re trying tot trick you.

Ignore @Heisenbergk. It has nothing to do with how much aid you will be getting. I got that email and my family is in the top 5% of income earners in the US and they are offering to fly me out for free. I just have to email them. I thought they paid for it for everyone. Guess not!

I got this email too. So does everyone get this offer regardless of income level?

@Sugoi15‌ Not everyone gets invited.

@CaliCash‌ - How does one get chosen then? Just curious, because I got this email right after sending them a request for travel assistance.

@Sugoi15‌ how did you request for travel assistance? I sent them an email exactly a week ago about my financial situation and expressing a strong interest in visiting…but I didn’t get a reply or even an acknowledgement of my email :’( so how exactly did you do it? Was it a link?? Did I skip over something in the acceptance package?

We got an email advising us that we would be reimbursed for hotel/rental car/other travel up to a certain amount. FWIW, it was unsolicited.

@Sugoi15 I was invited to a program where they pay for my ticket, and I stay with a host. Is it the same thing? Maybe you were gonna get flown out anyway :slight_smile:

@CaliCash‌ I think NU chose their top applicants for the program that you’re talking about

@CaliCash‌ - Yep the April 12-14 weekend one. But I couldn’t make it those days, so they are providing the same financial assistance for the 6th :slight_smile:
@TheOtterOne‌ - Oh really? I don’t feel like a top applicant… lol
