Wildcat Days All Expenses Paid?

Does NU offer to pay for all travel expenses for every accepted student?

I would hope so, it’s hard out here man. I couldn’t afford to visit otherwise.

NU offered to pay for my expenses and I’m trying to see if that’s an early indicator of whether I qualified for financial aid or not…

@spicytunaroll

When did they offer you this? Was it in your acceptance letter? I kind of need that offer too, haha.

they offered to pay for mine too

@kgoodwin18 it was in an email sent out today about Wildcat days

Oh…well, I got that email but it didn’t say anything about expenses paid. Guess I’m not going. :(

^in the email or in the link to the registration?

i dont think it told me that…in that case does that mean i didnt qualify for very much financial aid? i really hope not :frowning: cuz that means i wont be able to go to nw

I sent in some of my FA stuff late like literally 12 days ago so that might be why. I’m beyond poor though so it might not be tied to FA. I’ll call and ask tomorrow.

Last year at least –

NU offered to pay expenses for some and not for all. This DOES NOT appear an indication of how much they love you and want to attend, but rather seems to be based on financial circumstances.

@yjadenw, please let me know what theytell you wehn you call.

@zephyr15, do you know if you always get expenses paid if you get full tuition waived or clo to full tuition waived?

I know I sent in some documents late, my financial situation is…peculiar at best. I know I would qualify for need based aid I have an EFC of 0 and in a five person household we make around 13,000 dollars.

@YjadenW you’re like my twin. I turned in my Financial Aid stuff like last week lol (personal issues). I remember back in January when I called them I remember the guy on the phone saying they do not review your app until they receive your Financial Aid stuff (which is obviously wrong because I turned mine in late and got accepted). I’m going to call them tomorrow as well to inquire about both the travel expenses and my chance at financial aid. Northwestern is my 2nd choice, but living on the East Coast with a low EFC, (AND turning in my FinAid stuff late) my parents won’t let me visit unless NU will cover the travel expenses.

@ acha

I don’t know what NU’s criteria are for this.

I guess no email invite means I didnt get in? Bummer

I called in today to appeal / ask for assistance and they told me that no one gets financial aid for Wildcat Day (or an all expense paid trip). My sister is thinking that only admitted students close by have this opportunity… Thoughts?

When I called they said the exact same thing… oh well. Guess I can’t visit. @helloahmy I highly doubt that is the case.

@helloahmy and @loveessence no comment. Read in between the lines if you get what I’m saying.
