Does going to Info Sessions help?

This isn't necessarily just for Harvard...

sometimes colleges will hold information sessions for prospective high school students to learn more about them. As I understand it, they make you sign in and stuff, so I was wondering if in the admissions process colleges take your attendance to these sessions into account? I only go to those if i have questions...

Some colleges do keep track of showing interests, but many don't. (Harvard BTW doesn't care.) They will put you on their mailing lists if you aren't there already.

This question is posted in the Harvard Forum, and Harvard's answer is that Harvard does NOT track applicant interest as an admission factor. The sessions can be worthwhile to attend to get a sense of how to plan your studies and how to assemble your application.

We found some of the info sessions were simply a "selling" job for their school. Others actually provided valuable information. Harvards was very good. Dartmouth, not so good at all.
