On assist.org it says Business Administration is provided by Haas, but Economics is provided by Letters & Science School.
Does Haas have Economics for undergrad?

I don't quite understand your question. Haas is the business school of Berkeley. If you want to major in economics then you enter the College of Letters & Science.

I see. But I think there are some business schools that have economics major, right?

There really is no point of there being an economics major in a business school. If you enter Haas, then you will graduate with a bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration on something like finance. Economics is a social science, not business, which is why it is in L&S. I guess the closest to what you're referring to is business economics which UCLA has but Berkeley doesn't.

En...I get it.
Thanks a lot :P

I think you're confused with the Business Econ. major. It's different from the Econ. major. They have it at UCLA. Hope that helps.

Yeah, that's true, because so many people are going to Business schools after they get their econ. degree.

You mean to get their MBA? Well, of course because a lot of people with econ degrees go onto the business career path.

Why so many Econ. bachelors go to business path?

Why don't you ask them

^Because we can't get into Haas so we go for econ.

So by your logic, econ majors are the Haas and other business school rejects?

If Haas doesn't have Econ, why go there for Business Administration? The average salarie for bachelors majoring Business Administration is far less than those majoring Econ.

Source please?

^ yeah I would like to know. I believe when we talked about it on here in a old thread people found on Berkeley website that it said that Haas undergrads medium salary was about 1-2k more then econ undergrounds. But we all know Haas is a brand name and can land you a better job making more money.

Well which major are you looking at? Business falls into many categories such as finance, marketing, management, MIS, etc. Also keep in mind that salaries vary widely depending on what school you went to.

I think for transfer student, it is clearly showed on assist.org that only "Business Administration" is provided by Haas.

Yes, but one thing that need to be mentioned is not only Haas's fame, but also its notorious "grade deflation."
If one goes to a school that has a significant "grade deflation" such as Haas, I don't think it is possible for s/he to get higher salary with a 2.5 GPA than graduates from Econ. who have a 3.5.

True, everyone in Haas graduates with a bachelors in Business Administration, but you're supposed to pick in your senior year a concentration; this is where you pick out what area of business you want to make a career out of.

And I don't really see the point you're trying to make with the whole grade deflation thing. Bottom line is that economics is not synonymous with business; many people with degrees in econ go onto non-business related careers.
