Im currently a freshman in college, and I am thinking of applying to stern for my fall semster of sophmore year (I dont meet the requirements for spring I need calc.). I was admitted Fall Semester this year at Stern, but was given no aid whatsoever (and my parents who are NYU Alumni like the school I attend now more and they the ones paying right?) If I score good in my NYU-requirement classes, would it be easier to transfer to NYU? Considering my prior admittance and alumni relation?

You didn’t attend Stern because you needed aid.

If nothing has changed, you still won’t be able to attend Stern.

If you got nothing as a freshmen, and nothing has changed, you’ll get less than nothing as a transfer.

If you say things like “score good” on a regular basis, I’m pretty surprised you were admitted in the first place.

^ haha no need to nitpick about grammar on an online forum.

As to the op, it is harder to get in as a transfer to Stern than as a freshman (like many schools), so regardless of whether you were accepted before it could be a challenge. Good luck!

I’ve yet to hear of someone being accepted the first year and then being rejected when trying to transfer it.

As long as you maintain a solid 3.5 (or even higher), then you are fine.

@francisvdahlmann: Lol, its online forums not literature class.

Thanks for the comments folks. Yeah these science oriented classes im taking here are beating up my GPA badly, but Im striving to score [WELL] on my Stern required courses. Thanks.

Again, still the issues of money.

Has your financial situation changed? Can you now afford Stern whereas before you couldn’t?Because NYU will give you a max of around $5,000/yr in aid. The rest will be government grants and loans. Meaning around $30,000-$35,000/yr in loans. Which you can’t take afford. You need a co-signer to take out that much in loans.
