Does it mean anything?

does Columbia mailing you stuff, like their booklet and financial packets and other paper work, mean anything?

sorry, but no. they send those out to just about everyone in north america, as does every other school looking to increase its number of applications

just that you were a name of a student that fit broadly criteria they like, usually because of your PSAT scores, or you have indicated an underrepresented interest for them - women in engineering, interested in science. they don’t know your scores per se, but there are services that ‘buy’ names and sell them to universities based on criteria universities desire. doesn’t mean you will be admitted, but that you probably stand a better chance than a student that didn’t fit their criteria.

ok…thx for the clarification…and another thing, I have searched through the web about the EOP program at Columbia, would you or anything else know if the EOP program exists at Columbia or not. Long story short, everything in fine but when it come to the SAT, ACT or the subject test, I fail to score “high” scores. Although i have been in america for a long time, I was unware of all these reasoning test and had no time to prepare. I absolutely LOVE columbia and I REALLY want to go there for engineering. I have read some threads on the EOP program, and man do people here trash others that get in through the EOP program. My counselor really thinks I can get in through the EOP program, but I just not too sure. She’s one of those counselor that will always boost up your confidence, so at the last minute I freaking out right now. I myself do not like the EOP program, but if thats how i’ll get in, than im fine with that, i think. SOOOO do you, or anyone else know anything about the EOP program at Columbia?

The EOP program does exist.
