Title says it all.

Wouldn’t this be a logical question to ask . . . JMU?

I looked at their website and they were very broad. They don’t say anything about early action specifically. JMU website states:

“We review mid-year grades for two reasons. First, studies have shown that students who experience a drop in their senior year grades will often follow with poor grades in their freshman year of college. For three years the staff reviewed the files of students whose offers of admissions had been rescinded after final senior grades were received.”

“Second, high school counselors tell us that students looking at JMU often reduce their academic effort senior year because they believe we do not consider senior grades.”

The first reason says they rescind admissions after they see “final senior grades” and the second doesn’t apply to early action applicants because they were already accepted before mid-year reports come out.

Here mid-year grades are automatically sent to schools the student applies to unless the GC is told the kid was denied or withdrew the application. Final transcripts go to the school selected and any wait list schools which are still prospects.

Yes. Understood. Agree. Sometimes online instructions are not perfectly clear or don’t match all individual cases.

So, as I recommended, pick up the phone and ask . . . JMU.

I did the unspeakable. I called JMU and they said they required a mid-year report. Just a heads up for everyone.

High schools will typically automatically send mid year grades to every college a student has applied to.
