I got a 710 math, 770 writing, 670 CR.

My college counseler says a 2150 is good enough, and that I should be done now. However, I really like some of the more competitive schools like UPenn and am wondering if I should take it for a third time.

Take it again...it can't hurt if you do better.

Take it again. :) Rumor has it math is easiest to prepare for if you know all the concepts on the test. Critical reading always seemed ambiguous to me, but if you think you can improve on anything, I say: go for it.

Especially if you wanna get into UPenn.

Good luck! :)

I think that's a great score and it probably won't improve enough to validate taking it 3 times.

i still don't know what to do

I am looking at UPenn as well and my scores are slightly lower than yours. I am going to take it again because after looking at the detailed score report online, I concluded that I could score higher on the essay which I bombed. However, even then, I feel comfortable with my scores when it comes to UPenn. Once you make it into their median 50%, it doesn't augment your admissions prospects to score higher. And you are well within the median 50%.

If you have the time and money, retake it. Otherwise, focus on doing what you enjoy (music, volunteer work, athletics) and preparing for your SAT subject tests (unless you have already taken them).

take it again, try to get CR 700+

Take it again, what do have to lose?(other than a little money, but it is worth it ;))

I say you should. You can probably break 700 in CR, and many colleges now look at combined math and reading score, and you should at least break 1400 in that for competitive schools.

writing is weighed equally at all the competitive schools.

I know I can, I just keep making careless errors

also, I'm not gonna apply to HYPS or MIT or any tech schools (ugh math), so my sat score is basically in the median range for all those other schools.

Seriously, I hate taking the sat and wanna leave it behind
