Does Notre Dame accept transfer students?

My d was denied admission last year to Notre Dame, despite receiving a merit scholarship to Cornell, and Lehigh. She's currently happy at her school, Bucknell, but it's a little too small. She realizes that since ND was her first choice for many reasons, she might be happier there. She is a business administration major and would be looking for the same at Notre Dame. So, does ND accepts transfers, or are they like Princeton which doesn't accept?

From what I heard they do not accept transfers to Mendoza(business)... but they do accept to other schools....... talk to Irish 68178 -he knows everything bout transfering at Nd

This is actually irish's homepage: http://www.nd.edu/~mnadorff/transfer/

I'm sure you can find what you're looking for somewhere in there.

Sorry guys, I have been insanely busy recently and therefore haven't been on the boards much. Yes, transferring is very possible, obviously, since I now attend ND. ND doesn't accept business transfers anymore but there are ways around this that I can tell you in a PM.

Do check out the website and then PM me or email me with any questions you have or anything you need. This will help ensure that I answer your questions even when I can't make it to the boards much. Good luck!

I had no idea that Mendoza was so competitive. While it may be possible to find some loophole for getting into business, it is still a risk. And that was the same reason we steered clear of Cornell and their AEM program. Business is a very hot major right now, and the private schools who offer it are guarding their enrollment in the program - as they should. I'm not sure if she'll pursue it, but thanks for the info.

It isn't too much of a risk as long as you plan ahead, the main thing is it is just inconvenient! Back in the day when I transferred Mendoza was open but it has since rocketed in the rankings and now everyone is headed in that direction. I wish they would still accept transfers, at least a few, but I am biased on that.

Let me know if you decide to pursue ND. If not, good luck to your daughter.
