Does one unlawful excuse hurt your chances?

I recently obtained an unlawful excuse due to oversleeping and I was curious if one will hurt my chances at getting in. So if anyone could tell me that would be greatly appreciated.

No idea, but if you think that oversleeping one average day, with no tests, is going to change the course of your life, you are clearly wound too tight and need to step back get some perspective. Getting in is the least of your problems.

If you got suspended, it may appear on your transcript, but seriously, as ClassicRockerDad said, no.

Does “unlawful excuse” mean a tardy? That is not going to make any difference in your chances for admission.
Here’s even more good news: in college this fall, you can choose your classes and arrange your schedule so that you can sleep in every day.

@siliconvalleymom OP is a high school sophomore right now. @ClassicRockerDad nails it. To be freaking out on the Harvard admissions forum when he/she hasn’t even finished 4 semesters of HS is being pretty wound up.

OP: may I suggest you stop fixating on Harvard for about another 1.5 years? Please go back to your other thread and look at the advice given there

I thought this was classic senior stress about the last few days of waiting before a decision! Thanks for clarifying, T26E4.

CuriousBookworm, it may help you to read this page from the Harvard admissions website (spoiler alert: nothing about tardies, lots of questions about the big picture of your interests and growth):
