Does Pitt match financial aid/scholarships?

Is it worth asking if Pitt will match any financial aid or scholarships from another school such as Penn State?

Thank you for the quick reply @FromMD

Is Cost Analysis available to admitted students who have not received a scholarship offer from Pitt, but have from a comparable school?

@sltxdad, There is still a chance you will receive a scholarship offer. Our Scholarship Committee is meeting and reviewing students for merit scholarships through February. Students who are selected for scholarships will hear by March 1st at the latest, so there is still time. You should wait until you know if you are receiving a scholarship from Pitt to submit a Cost Analysis worksheet. Best of luck!

If Pitt is not giving you a scholarship, how long do you wait???

Personally, I love Pitt, but based on my older Ds experience, I think their merit scholarship decision process is hard coded in Excel based on GPA and test scores - not much room to consider other factors!

I would think submitting the form earlier in the process would increase your chances of getting a positive outcome from Pitt. But to be honest with you, I am not confident Pitt will budge once they make their decision, so don’t hold your breath.

My D has already been accepted to the 2nd and 3rd choice schools. 3rd choice has already provided financial info still awaiting info from #2, but are expecting net cost to be significantly lower than Pitt - we are OOS. Once that it in hand, I see no reason to waiting to approach Pitt.

@adkdad, If applicants don’t hear anything back on scholarships by March 1st, it is safe to assume they have not received a scholarship offer.
