Does Rutgers give out expedited decisions to those who apply earlier?

Hey, I just applied to rutgers last night and I’m wondering how long it would take to get a decision. My stats are pretty good and I consider it a safety.

I literally submitted my application the day it opened up. I have yet to receive a decision. The portal indicates that they officially received everything (application fee included) on 09/08/2017. My transcripts were in the system the day I applied, which was 09/06/2017.
When I applied for the fall 2017 semester, I received my rejection in 11 days or so.
Last time I spoke to admissions, I was told that the applicant pool for spring semesters is generally competitive. I don’t know whether this means that there is a large number of applicants, a pool with excellent stats overall or both.
I believe that they may begin notifying transfer applicants in October or so (uuuugh the wait), just because of what I have seen in the past. They also begin to notify freshman applicants around that point. Many people have said that they do often release transfer decisions first.
Remember that the candidate reply date is December 12th or so. I think they may be considerate by sending out decisions in October and November. I think it all really depends on how many people applied. If you have good stats and RU is a safety, then you may hear back sooner. I have often seen people with good stats get in within days.
I just hope for it to be soon, as I have been checking the page every night lol. Best of luck to ya!

Does anyone know what time they post at night? lol I might be a little anxious as well. Good stats, transfer, 4.0…I applied Sept. 12. Everything was received as of yesterday.

Wow. I wouldn’t be too worried if I were you. You have a 4.0. That’s amazing, simple as that.
To answer your question, from what I’ve seen, they update at either 5AM or around 10:30-11PM.
To again answer the question of this thread, I did call admissions yesterday. Apparently the earlier that one does apply, the earlier they will hear back. With that being said, the student who works for them said that the earliest one would hear back is probably in October. The student also said that it’s possible to hear back in September as well. Idk he was kinda rude and wanted to like finish the convo as soon as possible. It does seem like we will most likely hear back sometime after the “priority” deadline which is October 1st
I’m super anxious about this as well, as I was previously rejected for fall 2017 and my appeal was subsequently rejected. I got an email today from Rutgers with the subject " your next steps at Rutgers" and like immediately went to go check my status b/c I thought “OH LORD! I MAY BE IN.” Nope. Turns it out it was just an email stating that they have assigned me an RUID and all that jazz for the application and status page. Best of luck to ya even though you’ve got that 4.0!

I applied very early but got my decision on december 15th. Good job on applying early though, it defeintly does help in considerations.

In the same boat, applied 2 weeks ago and nothing yet.

This waiting game has me kind of stressed out. I truly do hope that they release the decisions before December. I have to notify another school of my decision by the 1st of November and I feel like RU tends to be very slow with these things.

Applied mid-September and haven’t heard anything.

Applied mid-October and still waiting it.

You won’t hear anything until mid-December.

If you check another thread on here, someone got in already as a spring 2018 transfer, for RU-NB. I wonder how they determine who finds out first. I applied literally the day application came out. Is my app just really bad or something? I am starting to become paranoid and it’s just eating at me.

@YesPolyglotGal I think they do the spring transfers first because they need to square them away with finances, housing etc quickly so they’re ready to move in spring semester. As for Fall 2018…from what I know of Rutgers the acceptances will start going out in mid December. Try not to stress to much…I understand the waiting is so brutal but I bet you have nothing to worry about.

I probably didn’t make this clear, but I am a spring 2018 applicant as well lol

OH… @YesPolyglotGal you should be hearing sooner then! Best of luck to you!!!
