Does SAT Waitlist actually get to take the test?

I got waitlisted because my damn bank wouldn’t process college board’s fee. When I figure that out it is already late and I ended up get waitlisted. Is there actually possibility ? My house is like an hour drive from the testing site, if I want to arrive early for the first come first serve thing, I will have to leave at 6 oclock in the morning and get there at 7. Is there actually a good chance ? Thank you

Yes, and it’s honestly no hassle. I took my first SAT off the waitlist due to an error on the CollegeBoard’s part (I was later refunded), but I still went about things the normal way. For context, I live in a fairly rural area in CT with many options for test centers at high schools within a 30 mile radius.

Thank you so much for that information

Also, in my case, I realized I didn’t have to get there any earlier than normal. I showed up an hour early and ended up waiting in the cold outside the testing center before they unlocked the doors and let everyone in. Just be there when the doors open and you’ll be fine.

Ok. Thank you, also should I show my ticket to a clerk first rather than go with the crowd?

Yes, I’d recommend that. Like I said, I went to a rather low-key rural testing center and that’s all I had to do. The woman at the table seemed surprised that anyone would not get on from a waitlist, but, again, this was at a very chill and well-staffed high school. Getting enough sleep and a good protein-packed breakfast is more important!

Thank you

In case anyone else gets into this situation like me, absolutely don’t worry, like rouge says, it is no hassle at all, I lived in a fairly crowded sub-urban area in California, my high school has a pretty bad teacher-students ratio, but all the waitlist was able to take the test, not one of them was sent home, they posted a list in my testing location with last names(Such as lastname a-c report to room 1221) There is a room that says wait list. They testing location was provided with how many wait list to expect, so they are prepared.
Overall : It is ok, you’re fine. Just go at 7:45 and take the test

What if hypothetically the test center is fully occupied? when will the next date of my examination be shifted to?
