<p>My posts did not say do not apply ED, but really are a caution to students that somehow it is some automatic huge advantage percentage-wise if they are not in a special group. In fact, 100% of non-hooked ED acceptances think ED was a huge advantage for them. Overall, it sure looks that way. Per application is a totally different calculus. </p>

<p>I deal with stats and numbers everyday and the successful at something always see the perceived higher advantage of their positive outcome, even if there was no discernible advantage in reality. And when I show that to people, they invariably do not believe the number because it cannot be true because it worked for them. </p>

<p>OP - Good luck on your application and go in with your eyes wide open. And if you apply ED, just understand what the Director of Admissions is saying, which is the overall ED rate is not the rate to apply to your individual application. </p>
