does this sound reasonable for my first quarter?

Hey guys, I'm a freshman student and I was just wondering if this schedule seems alright:

MATH10A (Single-variable diff. calculus)
PHIL10 (Intro to logic)
POLI13 (Justice and Power)
LIGN101 (Intro to the Study of Lang)

I've taken a course similar to Math10A (IB HL Mathematics), so I'm hoping it shouldn't be too difficult (my major requires the Math 10 series).

Also, I'm in Warren so some of the courses I'm taking are for my PofC's ^

Should I replace any of the courses above with WCWP10A? Or could I take that in the winter quarter, then 10B in the spring? I have no idea whether 10A is offered again in the winter though.

Please PM or reply me, any help would be appreciated. Thanks =P

Sounds like a good schedule to me; not too hard for a first quarter so you’ll have plenty of free time for other stuff.

WCWP 10A is offered for Winter as well – I actually think it’s offered year-round? 10A isn’t super difficult, but it does require you to dedicate a bit of time, and you’re usually writing around 5 pages per week (a 1-3 page paper and reading is due twice a week). I think it’s preferable taking it in winter, then taking 10B in the spring, so you don’t have to worry about writing too many papers in your first quarter.

Just curious, what is your major? I feel like you may have possibly misunderstood the GE requirements for your PofC since I’m not sure why you’re taking a Poli sci class and a linguistics class.

MATH10A should be a cakewalk if you took IB HL Math. I got a 6 and started at MATH20C and that proved to be pretty easy.

It seems like you have a pretty cake schedule to be honest. If I were you, I would take warren writing though just to get it out of the way earlier and also to suffer together with all the other warren freshman taking it so you don’t have to suffer by yourself in the winter.
