<p>I just calculated my hours in total for the common application and found that I had only about 229 hours of community service in the past four years, but over 5800 hours of clubs/groups (this includes music).</p>
<p>Did I overestimate that?</p>
<p>I'm guessing that you did because that would amount to 4 hours a day every single day of the week through the very last day of your senior year (which hasn't come yet). Plus, colleges never ask you for a quantitative figure on your EC participation.</p>
