Does UCSD have anything on UCLA?

This is not a hate thread or a "hey lets bash this college of a while..." but is UCSD better than UCLA in anything?

Background:
I am pre-med (Psychology major), and tend to be transfering as a junior.

one word: no

Their football team is "undefeated"

UCSD is stronger in biomedical/bioengineering.

does it matter for undergrad (premed)???

"I am pre-med (Psychology major), and tend to be transfering as a junior."

You tend to, eh? How often have you so far?

^ Wow, you guys at UCLA must be geniuses...

UCSD is better at sucking than UCLA.

ucsd has better weather

ucsd allows you to focus cuz the girls are ugly

UCSD has bad food. Freshman 15=-15lbs. UCSD is next to the beach (as long as you're willing to cross the I-5)

The Beach.

Oceanography.

Well, what answers do you want?

Well, if you're an athletic artist from a rich family who also likes to deal drugs on the side, then I don't think there are any Nicole Fordes at UCSD to ruin your love life. :(

Right on worriedsenior!!!

"ucsd allows you to focus cuz the girls are ugly"

I heard 9/10 girls in SD are hot, and the 10th girl goes to ucsd....lol

does ucla send a high amont of people to med school?

^^^Hahahahaha, never heard that one before.

MORECOWBELL!!,

UCLA is at or above the national average for med school acceptance.

As for the OP, here's what I can say as someone who's gone to both campuses (UCSD for grad.)

UCSD offers a much more academics-focused experience than UCLA. There are truly fewer distractions around UCSD than at UCLA, and many of the departments are stronger (from a research perspective) than UCLA.

However, it is my firm belief that UCLA offers a better overall undergraduate experience. For one, the campus is better organized, the students are more tightly knit, and the recruiting is better at UCLA than at UCSD.

For what I do at the graduate level, though, UCSD is light years ahead of UCLA. /shrug.
