Does ut count how many times you apply

I was capped then I have appealed. Still waiting on decision and I also applied for spring 2015 at UT. Will ut figure out that how many times I have applied. I am just looking to transfer out of Texas a&m as soon as possible and if my spring is granted then that's awesome for me. Also anybody know when spring decisions come out thank you

Bump?

If you are so certain on going to UT, why don’t you just do CAP, I really dont understand…
Uhh, I would assume a quality institution like UT would have a record of your previous application to UT on file. -__-

Because under cap my ap test scores are useless. My dual credits also useless. Also I got a full ride to texas a&m but parents want me in ut because my brother goes their. Also if I get in during spring I can just go right into ut.

how will you be able to go to ut in the spring after just one semester of college credit? i suggest you start at college station first and see how much the workload is and how you adjust to it before making swift plans to transfer…what if you end up loving college station? Cap might be a better choice for you and then once admitted into UT second year your AP test scores and dual credit will not be useless.

GeTting in for spRing 2015 has notHing to do with transfer credit. It’s only focuses on high school credentials to see if you are accepted. I don’t think you uNderstand. My credits are for my first year classes. After a year of cap I will be in chem 2 so my ap credit for chem 1 hours to waste. English language will be done in cap school. So the ap credit well be useless.

I was under the impression that if you go to another university and apply to transfer, you need like 30 credit hours. I dont think you can go to UT in spring 2015 after attending A&M for one semester… Why can’t you just take other classes that you don’t have AP credit for?

if you go to another university and transfer you must have 30 hours before being able to be admitted to UT. How have you even applied for spring 2015 if you don’t know what classes you will be enrolled in at Texas a&m? How are you sure that the classes that you are planning to take won’t be full when registration comes around? On the apply texas application, you must list the classes that you have taken/plan to take the semester prior to enrolling at UT. so really i don’t think you understand how the transfer process works.

I think @135pipe means he has applied to UT for freshman admission for the Spring 2015 semester. I think in other words, if accepted for Spring 2015 as a freshman, he will sit out the fall and not go to TX A & M at all. Hmm, except that is not what he said in the OP. So, now I am not sure. . . .

That’s what I meant wait I have to sit out my fall year oh crap

As a current CAP student, I would suggest doing CAP. I was in the same position as you at this time last year. I was able to claim my AP credit here at UTSA, which will transfer to UT and all of my dual credit transferred as well. I came in with 31 hours from both dual credit and AP and I was still able to take 15 hours last semester and 17 hours this semester… You are able to transfer your dual credit and AP credit to whatever institution you decide to go to and those credits will then transfer to UT. I’m not sure why you think your AP and dual credit hours will go to waste? I would suggest at least looking into CAP and maybe going to see an advisor at the CAP school you would attend. I wouldn’t sit out a whole semester, as it is a waste of time, and if you decide to go to A&M, then you are competing with everyone else when you decide to transfer. With CAP, as long as you meet the requirements, you’re guaranteed admission into UT, which takes a load of stress off of you.

They told me I couldn’t transfer my credits to a cap school, because it would reduce my hours, but they said I had to complete at least 30 semester hours. They said ap credits do not count towards those hours.

That’s correct, those credits don’t go towards the 30, but they don’t go to waste. I came in with 12 hours from AP and 19 from dual credit and I am still able to satisfy the 30 credit hours because I took 15 hours last semester and 17 this semester. I would go see an advisor from whatever CAP school you would go to! That’s what I did. We made a mock schedule for Fall and Spring to make sure I would be able to satisfy the 30 hours.

For instance, I already had dual credit for Pre-Cal and claimed it and took Calculus in the Fall semester. I got AP credit for both English 1 and 2 and claimed it so I didn’t have to take freshman comp.

Thanks so much you are so helpful. ^

Of course! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

How fast was cap did you enjoy it. Also i got a full ride to Texas a&m would you recommend gluing their then transfer to Ut later

I enjoyed CAP. This year has gone by really fast. It really depends on where your heart is. If you’re 1000000% set on UT, then do CAP. If you’re not, I would take advantage of a full ride to A&M, if you have’t gone to visit, I definitely would. I almost went to A&M, when I went to visit, I fell in love with it, but I also knew I would have been happier at UT and I was a horn at heart, not an aggie! It’s really about making the best decision for yourself.
