Does UTD stack scholarships?

For example, I currently have the AES Honors scholarship, which lowers my cost of attendance to around $4k. If I get additional scholarships that create some sort of surplus in money, would I be able to keep that scholarship money for personal uses?

Thank you!

I would like to know too. Based on what I saw on Jindal School site, looks like Department scholarships cannot be stacked. But I don’t know about AES and outside scholarships

@venturalize
http://oue.utdallas.edu/aes/aes-program-policies/</a></p>

says " In addition to the funds provided by an AES award, students may receive support from private third-party scholarships. Any private third party tuition scholarships and state tuition and fee waivers are applied in lieu of the AES tuition and fee award. "

But since AES Honor award ( http://oue.utdallas.edu/aes/</a>) says the Honors Scholarship reduces the approximate cost of attendance at UT Dallas from $22,246 to $4,440 each academic year. I sent an email asking if any extra scholarship left in excess of $4400 can be used for personal use or even with the 3rd party scholarship our cost of attendance will be $4400. I will let you know when i hear back.

@yetanotherid - Thank you! Your first paragraph suggests that UTD does NOT stack scholarships?

As for your second paragraph, I think the $4440 is an estimation. The amount we get is set in stone: full tuition + a stipend. I’m guessing. But thanks for emailing them and I would love an update!

@venturalize - If the 3rd party scholarship specifies that the award is towards tuition then that award will be used in lieu of AES $$$. other wise it gets stacked

Hi guys, please help me out with 2 questions - sorry if this is a bit off topic.
I’ve discovered UT Dallas a long time ago, been reading but I always thought that the Distinction Award was not open to international students, because of this quote: “Distinction Scholarship reduces the approximate cost of attendance at UT Dallas from $22,246 to $8,440 each academic year”.

Therefore, I seriously spent a long time regretting that I can never attend UT Dallas, as I love the Speech Language Pathology program of the school.

Howeverrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I now realize I never verify this fact.
So my questions are:

Is the Academic Distinction Award open to international students ?
Then the “Total estimated value over four academic years: $55,224” would not be true, for out-of-state students, too.

Today is March 25, students who are accepted before or on March 31 may apply. So, do I still stand a chance with this Award ?
My stats: CR+Math 1440, superscore 2140, GPA 8.8/10 => about 3.7/4

Please if anyone can help, please reply to me, I feel so dumb right now.

You want us to do your homework ? Did you send email to aes@utdallas.edu ? They are very good in replying. BTW, the AES eligibility doesn’t list US citizenship as a criteria. I would apply ASAP. UTD is a good school

Hey @Confucious2014: my Applytexas.org online application is sent on March 27, so over the weekend, after 2 business days, will it be there on March 31 :frowning: ? And do I even stand a chance of being admitted before March 31 ?

Thanks for reading in advance @Confucious2014 :D
