Don't know who to ask for recommendation.... Help!

I'm a senior and will be applying to colleges soon (yikes!). My teacher recommendations so far are as follows: journalism adviser, whom I had as my primary journalism teacher during sophomore year and with whom I'll continue to work in various ways until the end of high school; and my freshman year English teacher, who probably knows me better than any other teacher at my school.
Unfortunately, my freshman year English teacher's letter will count as the extra one, so I still need a second academic teacher from sophomore year or beyond. Seeing as how things turned out sophomore year on, I'm having trouble deciding who to ask.

Although I'm pretty friendly with most of my other teachers, I'm not too close with any them... like I won't just deliberately go into their offices to catch up, or something, you know?

What can I do? I need to decide on someone by Monday... any advice will be appreciated!

Thank you so much, and happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate!

Here’s the thing, just telling us your grades doesn’t tell us anything about your relationships with those teachers. For example, you could have an A in P.E. and the teacher may hardly know you… at the same time, you could have a B+ in an academic subject, but the teacher knows you well and knows that you’re a hard worker!

Also, we can’t tell if you had a teacher for more than one year. Like if you had your French teacher for 3-4 years now, then you may be able to get a good recommendation from them :)

I can’t offer you specific advice (since as I said, grades don’t tell much about your relationships with your teachers) So, consider several things when deciding, like how long you had them, do you go in for help, do they leave good feedback on your assignments, do you participate in class a lot, etc. You don’t have to be best friends with a teacher to ask for a recommendation, so don’t worry about that. Good luck! :)

Thank you, miopyon13! :)

Luckily it’s all worked out and I’m getting my second rec from my current French teacher… I haven’t had any French teacher for more than one year and although I’ve only had my current teacher for almost a semester, I’m feeling pretty good about it.

Thanks again, and happy holidays!
