yeah i just wear it really.

actually, it does kind of annoy me when people wear a harvard shirt. they don't know what they're up against, until they encounter CC.

well, i've gone to volleyball camps and i have a few MILLION university of GA volleyball/ cross country shirts. Considering that i'll probably end up goign to GA tech (motto: to hell w/ GA) for scholarships, I'll stop wearing the shirts then, but until then, hey, i like black tshirts cuz they look good. why should i not wear the shirts just because i know there's no way in hell i would go to UGA?

How can you tell the difference between a sports one and a school one? Mine just says the schools name and has the mascot on it. I wear it all the time because I like their football team. I also wear a shirt from another state school. I have no problem with it, but I do try to save it for when I'm not at the school because of all the rivarly. If every piece of your wardrobe is from a school you won't be attending, then that is kinda weird, but if you just have a few then I don't see a problem.

I don't see what the big deal is UNLESS the person is wearing a shirt from X university and they were actually not admitted to it, yet they are saying they will/did attend it.

No, I have better things to do than worry about other people's choice of attire. I don't mind seeing people wearing MIT gear; if anything it just makes me proud that my college is well-liked enough for people to buy its merchandise :P

If you're going to be elitist about your school, isn't the fact that you get a diploma from there better than the fact that you wear a shirt from there? I worked hard to get into my school and I love my school, but if I saw someone wearing a Princeton shirt who I knew went to a community college I wouldn't care in the least. Maybe I'd assume they knew someone going there: it's fine to be supportive of a relative's or friend's college--at least concede to that. I just don't see why it's an issue. I personally didn't buy a shirt until I decided once and for all where I was going, but when I visited schools my sister asked me to bring her shirts as souvenirs. She likes shirts. What's wrong with that? She's not pretending to go to Princeton: she loves her college and may even go to the same one for graduate school.

Though, I admit that it can bring up awkward situations if you see someone wearing the shirt of your school and you talk to them about it but they don't even know anyone going there. :)
