Don't you hate people who......?

yeah, i hate alll the people who wear harvard sweaters going to shi**Ty collleges

yah lighten up people! i wear duke shirts b/c i love duke and i got in...

i bought a lot of college sweatshirts when i was little and my family walked through the campus on a family trip/went to visit relatives at that college. it didnt bother me to wear them at the time because college was so far off. but now i see what ya'll are saying. a C average student would get a wierd look from me if they were wearing an ivy league tee shirt. it just wouldnt make sense

a C average student would get a wierd look from me if they were wearing an ivy league tee

I know...just take it off, please stop embarassing yourself...!

ArtOfMind_21, go back to where you came from! I don't think you're in any position to say who wears what based on certains merits. SMH

Yeah...I wear Nova and UF stuff all the time (even have a pair of GTown shorts). I couldn't have gotten into any of those schools. I dont really see the big deal...

What's sad is when people wear apparel from colleges they can't get into in the hopes that people will think they go there and thus get a false sense of satisfaction from it.

NOBODY DOES THAT! And how would you know anyway, do people confide in you to reveal their insecurities? Either this is something you do, or you are a high schooler who believes he is going to a brand name school and thinks life revolves around impressing people by that fact.

Believe me, people who don't go to the most celebrated schools aren't crying their hearts out that they aren't at Harvard. We're proud of and like where we go. I'd say the people seeking satisfaction out of those shirts are the people who get into ivy leagues and, instead of just being proud of themselves, need other people to know where they are going.

Yeah i understand how you feel. My aunt was wearing a Harvard sweatshirt one day and she graduated from TAMU and it ed me off cause your trying to give yourself credentials for pretending to graduate from an ivy league college that some kids work their a off to get into

iambored10, sounds like you're a high schooler "working your ass off" to get into one of those schools. If you think that the kids work hard to get into an ivy league just so they can say they go there then you aren't mature enough to be making college choices yet.

yeah i dont like those ppl that wear ivy league t shirts or any other college t shirt that they cant get into.

I gave a Harvard shirt to a pothead (I'm talking 8x a day) from my graduating class. While he may not realize it, the sight of him wearing it is hilarious and 100% worth it.

Also, I was up at H this past weekend and was wearing a UNC tar heels shirt on the last day. Definitely got some funny looks whenever I said I was an incoming freshman.

Oh and also I got a Princeton sweat 2 years ago lmao (this means I ****ed off the OP, oh well). My uncle recently asked if he could use it to wash his car, but I told him to get a Yale version.

^^ you're charming.

i just dont think you deserve wearing a t-shirt of a college you dont even go to even if you know someone that goes there. sports is different though

Deserve? Are you kidding me?
Well, I don't think you deserve to be breathing the air around you. Fortunately, what I think you 'deserve' doesn't matter at all. And guess what- neither does your opinion.
/snarkyness

I bought a shirt from nearly all the colleges I visited or did a pre-college program at. I was even wearing my johns hopkins shirt yesterday even though I'm an incoming freshie at wustl.

It's funny because no one cares about this in the real world. If anything, you'll be noticed for a second. Way to be bitter over something so trivial.

How can you tell the difference? and what if both circumstances apply to someone?

Your thread would've made so much more sense if you said you hated fat people who wear mini skirts.

You watch too much of the Tyra Show.

^^^haha! :p

im a pretty average hs student, who has never had any intention (or chance) of going to harvard, yet i wear the shirt anyway. that way people think i'm an extraordinary elitist who scoffs at others who wear merchandise sold to the general public. give me a break, i wear it because it looks good as well as the sort of irony that comes with wearing it. i'm assuming that the OP was admitted to the ivies, and as accomplished as he or she may feel, they need an extra sense of smugness so they can feel better about spending 250k on college. take that society!

well, a lot of times they're gifts. Like maybe a sibling or other relative went/goes there, so they got others t-shirts or something like that. Honestly, who cares? It's just a shirt.
