I'm an incoming freshmen and I'd like to know which of the two dorms is better for my first year. From what I understand, Jennings is nicer because it was recently rennovated but Broward seems more convenient to classes and the rest of campus. For those who have lived there, do they recommend one over the other? Is Broward's convenience a better factor that Jennings' rennovation? For Jennings, is it difficult to cross Museum Rd to get to class everyday? Thanks!

Either one is really close to classes. I would go with Jennings. It is probably a literal 2 minute difference in time to classes between Broward and Jennings. It wouldn’t be difficult to cross Museum Road because there are crosswalks everywhere. Students cross the street at different places all over campus, and cars always stop to let them cross.

I lived in a triple in Broward last year and there really isn’t a huge difference between the dorms. They both have identical room set ups between doubles and triples. Broward is in more of a central location but like dflorida said it’s only a 2 minute walk between them. Crossing any street on campus isn’t a problem. It’s a pedestrian ran campus and cars will stop for you most of the time. Browards also obviously really close to Broward dining if you’re on the meal plan. Also they just replaced the Burger King next to Broward with a Chick-fil-a and there’s also a subway and convenience store right next door as well.

By fall 2014 3/4 of Broward will be newly renovated. (The northwest will not be renovated until summer 2015). Also they Are putting an elevator on the west side and it will be available for use in the fall. Jennings was renovated 2+ years ago. Good luck deciding!
