So we all need to transform our rooms into living spaces, and I was wondering what you all were planning to do. What sort of posters do you think you'll hang? Tapestries? Cool lamps or something? Curtains?

I'm sorta trolling for ideas myself here. I was thinking of hanging fabric on the walls and maybe a couple posters; maybe Love and Death (Woody Allen movie) and a print of a painting.

Some of the best rooms I've seen included->
1) Unique wall coverings. I know in the dark ages you could paint your room so long as you painted it back before moving out (Housing had the right paint). Not sure if that is still the case; if so, having at least one wall a different color from the rest made things interesting. If not, using the RLHS provided hanging nails to put fabric on the wall makes it more of a home.
2) Lamps. Overhead lights just feel really institutional.
3) Rugs. Depends on the dorm room, but a runner or area rug goes a long way towards making a room your own. Or at least, your and you roomate's own.
4) Poster frames. Various places have pretty cheap poster frames that make things seem a little more put-together.
5) Real bedding. Those bed-in-a-bag things they sell can make the room seem much less like a 160 sqft prison cell...

ANd in all things, if you have roomates, work with them.
