The dorms have apt. building style mailbox arrays and can hold packages for you at the front desks. Most off-campus buildings just have mailboxes, but you can have packages left in the vestibule if no one will be home. Worst case, the RSO (club) center receives packages for student groups, which people occasionally use for personal items.

There is a staffed postal kiosk type of thing on campus for sending large items.

There’s been a lot of discussion about particular arrangements for this or that dormitory- for OP and others interested in the housing situation, you can get more information about them from [Housing and Dining Services](http://housing.uchicago.edu/). Shoreland Hall is now closed, and has been replaced by the South Campus Dormitory.

All of the residence halls are very different! Some of them are singles, some are doubles; some have communal bathrooms, but some are private; some are very close to the center of campus, some are on the fringes. The housing/residence hall site should cover most of these differences.

I mailed things directly to S1’s dorm address. The dorm has mailboxes for each student, and a staff person who (among other things) accepts packages. Never had a probelm with getting things to him.

Phuriku – yikes. If the rent sounds to good to be true, I guess it is!
