Well my friends and I found a loophole to finding out our advisers and dorms for Exeter. Go to lionlinks, click student info. From there go to grades, click any term, and it'll show your adviser! And since your adviser has to be in your dorm (unless they live in a house), go to Who's Who and type in their name to see which dorm they're in!

So the question here is anyone know which teachers go to which dorm if they don't live in a dorm? Ex) Dr. Masami Stahr or Dr. Thomas Simpson?

Don’t know. My son’s advisor lives in his dorm. I assume that they try to keep the number of students per advisor down to a reasonable number. That would suggest that advisors living outside a dorm would be associated with one of the larger dorms.

While each of the dorms has its own character, I think you’ll find that your dormmates will be a much bigger driver of your dorm experience than the particular building you are living in. I know that is little consolation while you are waiting for your dorm assignment for another week or so.

Yeah I think your adviser has to be in the same dorm as you unless they live in a house or something. Thanks We were obsessing over it and did a little lurking on the site :)

@Exeter123 Thank you! We just wanted to know if we had the same dorms and such We’re not into the dorm as much as who is in them :)

from the Exeter website: "Each dorm also has from one to three dorm affiliates, faculty members who don’t live in the building, but do duty, have advisees and participate in dorm events. The dorm faculty and faculty affiliates are academic advisers to students in the dorms. "

Stahr and Simpson must not actually live in the dorm.

pea2014, how many of your friends are going with you to Exeter?

We do like bright kids All dorms, large or small, have affiliates. But you should know that adviser assignments have NOT been finalized, so the person who’s currently listed as your adviser (and, therefore, the dorm you will be in) may still change. In other words, don’t bet on being in a certain dorm until you hear that from the Dean.

Neatoburrito, we weren’t people that met before being accepted to PEA We became friends over facebook, and while creepin’ on lionlinks a group of us found our advisers xD I do believe I’ve seen your son on the PEA FB page though?

PEAteacher: Thank you! We were happy to at least find something!

I have a theory, so if you could tell me if I am right or not, that’d be great! If you go on Who’s Who and search up for example McConnell Hall, there’s a list of teacher, under which Thomas Simpson is listed. It is listed that he doesn’t live in the dorm, but would he be an adviser for that dorm since he is listed under it? And Masami Stahr is listed under Kirtland House, therefore would she be an adviser for that house even though she doesn’t live there? It’s just a theory, but my friends are asking, so I have been attempting everything I can to find out! Thank you!

@neatoburrito: Metallika says it all! We met on facebook after we became friends. But none of my friends from my school are attending, though some are applying next year!

Ms. Stahr and Mr. Simpson are both awesome people and previous teachers of mine. Ms. Stahr teaches math and Mr. Simpson teaches religion (I took his Religion & Popular Culture class, SO much fun). I’m not sure their exact dorm affiliations, but if either of them are your adviser I’m sure you’ll be happy!

pea2014, I was waiting for you to take the next step. You didn’t disappoint. You’ll do well here But remember that assignments have not been finalized (e.g., my list of new advisees has changed between yesterday and today).

Thank you PEAteacher! I’ll definitely be waiting for the letter from the Dean, but it’s great to get our possible advisers now! I can’t wait until Exeter starts to meet everyone
