hey guys new update
on lionlinks, if you go to who’s who, and find yourself, you can find your dorm.
and then go search up your dorm, type in your extension, and your roommate should share your extension i’m pretty sure. so for those who still haven’t received room info! you can find it there :)

I have recieve dorm information from a dorm proctor through email…I’m in Dvnbar!!!

Isn’t it Dunbar, not Dvnbar? Anyways, that’s the dorm I’m in too!

i’m pretty sure dunbar has undergone through some renovations this summer, and that’s why the extensions are messed up for now

Dvnbar is pronounced and technically spelled Dunbar, but the engraved name above the door to the dorm is in old-styled lettering (if that makes any sense), so it looks like Dvnbar. Most folks type it this way and pronounce it as Dunbar.

And they did have a huge renovation to follow fire safety protocol, I heard an entire floor was wiped out and HUGE new doubles were made. Not sure how accurate that is though!

Anyone else got their dorm yet?

Son is in Peabody. It seems to be in a great location. Any idea about room size?

Not huge, but all right. Peabody was renovated more recently than most other dorms, so it’s in good shape and actually has an elevator (you’ll appreciate that when moving in, especially if your son is on a high floor; elevators are rare in Exeter dorms).

Merrill. I love the location, having been on campus all of three times
Is breakfast served at Wetherell, or only at Elm ? TIA

Wheelwright! Love the location too. Is there anything of note that I should know about the dorm?

Prepclass, Wetherell does get breakfast served too, according to the orientation packet, but not every single single day. This might only be during the first week, though.

@tuesdays, I think you are right:
[Phillips Exeter Academy | Locations and Hours](http://www.exeter.edu/student_life/85_708.aspx)

For most people, Wetherell is the more convenient dining hall. It’s closer to the academic buildings, whereas Elm is closer to most of the dorms. Some students find it easier to go straight from class to Wetherell for a meal, whereas others head to Elm, which is a longer walk but makes it easier to visit your dorm between lunch and your next class.

Wetherell is open for all three meals on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. They’re closed weekends, and on Wednesdays they only serve breakfast and lunch. Elm is open pretty much anytime you want to eat! Not sure if that’s how the schedule works during orientation, but that’s how it is for the rest of the year.

Thanks for all the info, 007! Btw, your username makes me feel like you’re some secret agent telling us all these juicy Exeter secrets :B

…I’m a dork, I know I know.

Oh, do you know anything about Wheelwright’s rooms?

I live in Wheelwright. It’s a pretty nice dorm. The room sizes vary… but I highly doubt we have single rooms open… and some doubles are pretty big, and we have five emergency doubles… (yay overenrollment of '12 and '13!)

What would I say in a letter to my roommate that includes coordinating with her what we should buy?

*Does anybody have any more “juicy” (lol tuesdays) info on Dvnbar?

Urban: I think two things you’d want to know about are whether she has a landline phone and a computer printer (maybe one person could provide the printer and the other the ink?). Of course girls are probably concerned with things like rugs, colors, etc. that my boy wouldn’t give a rip about… :)

SKIM MILK I DEFINITELY KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND I LOVE YOU. Creepy, but hey. And I’m staying anonymous so don’t ask :)

And all these are definitely not secrets, you would’ve figured it all out when you got here anyway! Consider these just a head start to your Exeter life.

@urbanflop, I know one of the proctors in Dvnbar is really nice. She got to look at the dorm after the renovations and she said its a lot nicer now. The rooms are supposed to be the largest on campus. She also told me the dorm faculty are really nice and lenient. :)

^It’s good thing that we’re both in it. Not to be stalkerish, but I also know who you are, assuming your location is true.

@doubleohseven:… I have no idea who you are… ;-;

I think I know who urbanflop is (maybe), but I’m not revealing any dorm info in case you don’t know who I am yet.

Anyway, does it get confusing about whether your friends are eating in Elm St. or Weatherall? Speaking of friends, is Exeter very cliquey compared to other schools?
