I wouldn’t call Exeter cliquey. You’ll have your core group of friends who have the same interests, participate in the same clubs/extra curriculars, etc. But I wouldn’t call these groups cliques because, at least in my opinion, none of the groups completely separate themselves from the rest of the community and don’t make friends with anyone outside of their group. You’ll have the people you’re close with, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be your only friends. I hope that answers your question a little bit, you’ll see what I’m talking about soon enough :)

You’ll figure out where your friends tend to eat pretty soon into the school year. Try both dining halls out, some people really prefer one more than the other. Personally, I love Wetherell because it’s close to my classes and my dorm is on that side of campus, and I like the smaller, more home-like atmosphere. I only eat at Elm - which is bigger, generally out of my way, and more industrial-looking - when I have a meeting there or if I’m just grabbing a snack before heading to/from sports or the library or a friend’s dorm or something like that. Some people love Elm and hate Wetherell, that’s why you should try both!
