Hi, I recently accepted my housing offer as a freshman for a single in hedrick summit.
I was reading the "rules" and they said that you're only allowed to have an overnight guest for a max of 4 nights a month.
I was wondering, is this a strict rule? Can't I just walk in with my friend and we go to my single and they stay overnight?
How can they tell they aren't a student?

I'd just like to know because 4 nights seems a bit small..

normally the dorms have student workers who swipe you in at night (“access”). they take down the ID of the person (driver license) if you have a guest and they get a guest pass.

HOWEVER, this is only in the res halls. In the plazas and suites, there isn’t a place to convene on…so they don’t have access workers.

tldr: since you live in summit, no one is going to check…have fun :D

They have hired people who swipe you in at nights so u cant just walk in.

however its really not strict at all. As long as your friend gets inside the dorm and past the swipers before they start swiping people (before 9 i think? maybe 10? i dunno ive been out of dorms for a while) they can stay the rest of the night.

reading your post again, i dont think this is even an issue for u since u live in hedrick summit. There will be no swipers there (only for the halls) so they can essentialy live there every day if they wanted. but need a id to get inside the building.
