Dorms at University of Minnesota for International Student

Hello everyone,

I just got accepted to UMN Twin Cities yesterday and to Carlson School of Management.

I'm an international student and I will live on-campus for my freshman year. I have read many threads in this forum about housing at the U. I'm considering the Student Crossing Borders(SCB) program, which is at Middlebrook Hall. Is it a good hall for Freshman and international student? I'm pretty social and outgoing. Will I stay with another freshman or an upperclass in SCB program?

Anyway, please give me any advice on when to apply for housing and should I choose Middlebrook or not? Thank you very much

You should put in your application now. Don’t wait … housing is in short supply and is assigned based on the date that you pay the $25 application fee (non-refundable). You could have sent this in as early as late November 2012 regardless of whether you were accepted or not.

When you file the application, you will be able to provide your building, room type, and meal plan preferences … but don’t get hung up on this, you’ll be able to make changes to these preferences until June 1st or so.
